“Anchor” is a monumental ceramic sculpture by Aiga Datava, created from black reduced ceramic and standing 72 cm high. Its form echoes that of ancient maritime anchors — tools once used to secure ships through storms and crossings. The sculpture is crowned by a golden-arched relief enclosing a stylized vessel or sanctuary, set within swirling oceanic motifs and studded with deep blue stones.
Beneath its symbolic exterior lies a functional element: the upper section lifts off to reveal a hidden storage chamber within — a sacred container for meaningful objects, intentions, or offerings. Whether used as a ritual box, contemplative art object, or symbolic altar, Anchor carries the energy of stability, trust, and spiritual navigation.
Aiga Datava’s signature visual language is encoded throughout — from spiraling waves and gilded arcs to the central boat form, combining myth and material into one sculptural statement.
